August 15, 2025Aug 15 comment_93648 I keep seeing this terms "umbrella contract" and "subsumable contract" popping up lately and they all seem to reference this Raytheon contract with DLA. The link below describes it a little but I'm confused about what this "umbrella" is and what the "subsumable" contracts are. What's most weird to me is how it appears to be an IDIQ but they're issuing other IDIQs and definitive ("C") contracts under this. Does anyone have any info on how this contract came about and how they're able to issue IDIQs and C types under this IDIQ? Then Sam.gov contains much more. From quickly looking. You can see the approved J&A, solicitation and contract.DLA labels the document as an umbrella contract. To me, it seems similar to a BOA with more detail. It allows for subsumable contracts to be placed under it for specific work needs. It’s all sole source actions for missile support. Report
