Government Contract Cost Accounting: A Practical Guide to Maximizing Profitability" by William J. Anderson

Has anyone heard of or know where I could find this book? I googled “maximizing cost recovery indirect rates book” & the AI spit out the above as the gold standard.  Can’t seem to find it or evidence that it exists. Or suggest a book that would provide me with a similar education? Looking to better understand indirect rate structures. Thanks

This is great. Thank you!

Vern gave you a great reference.

Others I have read include: Contracting with the Federal Government (Worthington/Goldsman) and Pricing and Cost Accounting: A Handbook for Government Contractors (Oyer). Both are unfortunately out of print but may be available for purchase online if you look hard enough. The absolute classic, Treuger's Accounting Guide for Government Contractors, ended publication after four decades with the 10th Edition. Still highly relevant in terms of strategy, though things have changed a bit since 1991.

Thank you H2H!

I wrote a blog years ago that explains it in a simple manner to get started. https://retreatandlearn.com/2021/01/04/government-indirect-rates-p1/ and https://retreatandlearn.com/2021/01/05/government-indirect-rates-p2/.

I also wrote a book that I link to below but the blogs above should get you started. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. I remember when I was getting started and how confused I was - they don't make it easy!
