Does anyone know where a government public link is for the Contract Pricing Reference Guides?

Good question. I was sure I had it, but my old bookmark is to a bad link, and "I've searched the world over" without success, just another bad link at http://www.acq.osd.mil/dpap/cpf/contract_p...ce_guides.html: "The Guides are posted at the Acquisition Community Connection (ACC), under the Contracting ACC Practice Center, here." Wikipedia's link to the Acquisition Community Connection shows a padlock and an https URL. Of the two co-authors, a search on the AFIT site yielded no hits; and a search on the FAI site circled back to the URL pasted above, with a bad link. Glad I downloaded them in December 2005 because they seem to be hiding these days.

I am able to browse through the document from my home computer without logging in.

While it is an https site, it appears to be available to the public. I just went to the URL on my smartphone, and it allowed me to do so. But this is a web based version of the documents, versus a downloadable document.

See Randy's post above. I can get there by BlackBerry, but not by PC. Don't know if I'm blocked by DAU's firewall, my company's, or the combination of the two.

Sorry, Bob. In addition to my home computer (Firefox is my Browser), I am also able to pull up the URL (the one that Randy Jewett provided in post #3 above) on my Blackberry.

It is possible that this is being caused by the internet browser that a computer is using. It may be caused by a setting in the browser's "tools" section. So far, I have no idea what is preventing my computer from accessing it.

On this computer I am using IE 8. I hate to think what IE 9 would do. MSFT has this little thing with making their past programs obsolete and then providing a "compatibility" mode. Eg. MS Word.

If anyone has found that it is a "browser" issue, please let us know here.

That may be the reason that some people are having issues accessing the site. You might want to go into the internet options for your browser, look under "advanced", then find "security", and uncheck anything that has to do with certificates. I would only do that as a test, and not leave the settings that way however.

In this case, I am not getting the certificate warning. I'm just getting the "no connection" page. MSFT is pretty tricky. They keep one guessing.

My backup computer uses IE 7. I can access the Pricing Guides using IE 7 and other https sites. When using IE 7, you get a screen notifying you of a "certificate" issue. However, if you click "go to the site" you get to acc with no problem. If you have downloaded IE 8, you will encounter a different screen leading you to believe the https site is a dead link. I suppose that is MSFT's version of progress. That is where I am at with my primary computer. I have tried the "solutions" for the IE 8 problem offered by MSFT and they haven't worked. I could risk added danger and download IE 9 but I already know it is a monstrosity.

Since my only interest is to check for dead links, I can use my backup computer and IE 7.

Check what version of internet browser State uses.

My computer says Internet Explorer 7.0.5730.
