Several years ago, I invited someone to write an article for Wifcon.com's Analysis page  (Its under the Reading section in the right column).  The individual said he was going to submit an article to a "professional" journal, instead.  I thought that was great, if he didn't want anyone to read it.

If you are an author of professional articles on federal contracting, or, if you wish to write a professional article, submit it to Wifcon.com.  If you want publicity for yourself, and/or, if you want free advertisement for yourself and organization, publish it at Wifcon.com.  Here is why you should.

The table below shows the Top 10 articles for 2007 that are stored on Wifcon.com's server.1  Information on the first 7 weeks of 2008 also are shown

Article Ranked By Number Of Downloads During 2007 Number of Downloads in 2007 Number of Downloads in 2008

(1/1/08 to 2/17/08)

1 3,089 87
2 2,143 78
3 2,090 0
4 1,893 0
5 1,637 330
6 1,552 627
7 1,522 21
8 1,333 47
9 1,200 333
10 1,126 20

1 These are articles that are stored on Wifcon.com's server and not as a link to another internet site.

The table above presents some impressive numbers but a little more information stresses the point.  For example, during 2007, the top article was downloaded 3,089 times.  On average, that is about 257 times a month or about 9 times a day.  Remember, that is just for 1 year.

Let's take another example--my article on the Fixed-Price Incentive Firm Target contract.  That was downloaded 1,637 times during 2007.  However, it was published to the site in 2003--over 4 years ago.  That is over 4 years of being seen!  In the first 7 weeks of 2008, it is ahead of its pace for 2007.  Do you think that is impressive?  Well, here is one that is better yet.  In the year 2000, Vern Edwards published his article: Award Term: The Newest Incentive on Wifcon.com.  Seven years later, it was the second most popular article with 2,143 downloads.  In fact, none of the top 10 articles were added to the site in 2007.  That's telling you that Wifcon.com provides your articles with staying power.

So, ask yourself this.  Do you want your article to hide in that stack of aging paper in the corner or do you want people to download it at Wifcon.com?
