Section 2323(k) of title 10, United States Code, is amended by striking '2003' both places it appears and inserting '2006'.

The Senate amendment contained a provision (sec. 823) that would extend for three years the contract goal for small disadvantaged businesses and certain institutions of higher education. (See Senate Amendment and Senate Report 107-151 below)

The House bill contained no similar provision. 

The House recedes.

SEC. 823. EXTENSION OF CONTRACT GOAL FOR SMALL DISADVANTAGED BUSINESSES AND CERTAIN INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION.

Section 2323(k) of title 10, United States Code, is amended by striking `2003' both places it appears and inserting `2006'.

Senate Report 107-151

Extension of contract goal for small disadvantaged businesses and certain institutions of higher education (sec. 823)

The committee recommends a provision that would extend section 2323 of title 10, United States Code, for three years. Section 2323 establishes a five percent goal for Department of Defense contracting with small disadvantaged businesses and certain institutions of higher education.
