SEC. 822. REPEAL OF SUNSET OF AUTHORITY TO PROCURE FIRE RESISTANT RAYON FIBER FROM FOREIGN SOURCES FOR THE PRODUCTION OF UNIFORMS.

    Subsection (f) of section 829 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2008 (Public Law 110-181; 122 Stat. 229; 10 U.S.C. 2533a note) is repealed.

Repeal of sunset of authority to procure fire resistant rayon fiber from foreign sources for the production of uniforms (sec. 822)

The House bill contained a provision (sec. 817) that would repeal the sunset on the authority to procure fire resistant rayon fiber from foreign sources under the circumstances provided in section 829 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2008 (Public Law 110-181).

The Senate amendment contained a provision (sec. 888) that would require further review of the issue.

The Senate recedes.

Section 817—Repeal of Sunset of Authority to Procure Fire Resistant Rayon Fiber from Foreign Sources for the Production of Uniforms

This section would make permanent the authority to procure fire resistant rayon fiber for the production of uniforms from foreign sources by striking subsection (f) of section 829 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2008 (Public Law 110–181), as amended by section 821 of the Ike Skelton National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2011 (Public Law 111–383).

Report on alternatives for the procurement of fire-resistant and fire-retardant fiber and materials for the production of military products (sec. 888)

The committee recommends a provision that would require the Secretary of Defense to report to Congress on fire resistant and fire-retardant fibers and materials for the production of military products.
