Award of ID/IQ Options

Recommended Posts

Hi Folks:

Can the next option year of an ID/IQ be awarded by an agency and the period of performance be extended for the current/previous option year be extended at the same time so that both options periods would technically be operational at the same time? Why or why not?

Thanks!

What you wrote is unclear: "next option year"? "current/previous option year"? "be extended... be extended"? Please try again.

Reading between the lines... Are you indicating that you have not exceeded the "ordering capacity" for the currently awarded option period, therefore you'd like to extend the period in order to award additional task or delivery orders and that you also want to award the next option year for ordering purposes? If so, do you want to award it "early"? As Vern said, please be clear about what you are asking...

We seem to get so many questions asked that are incomplete or need clarification. When someone here takes the time to read and asks for additional information, the original poster doesn't even have the courtesy to respond. There are at least four outstanding questions like this is the past few days.

In any event, I don't understand why people award ID/IQ contracts with separate mins and maxes for the base and each option year. It just creates potential problems and serves no useful purpose.
