FAR-flung 1102
A recent article indicates that there is still more talk about in the long term effort to replace the 9mm Beretta. See this linked article about operational test failures for two Sig Sauer models: : https://www.military.com/kitup/2018/01/31/army-responds-dod-report-criticizing-new-sidearm-reliability.html Are there any lessons learned to come out of this? (The original topic was closed, so I have opened a new one here.)

Yeah, next time, just buy Glock 17s. If they're good enough for NYPD... Maybe Glock 21s or 41s.
REA'n Maker
Poor technique on the part of the shooter(s)? Quote "Sixty percent of all FSLR stoppages (75 of 123) were experienced by 8 shooters out of the 132 who participated in the IOT&E." When learning to shoot, my wife had a tendency to rest her thumb on the slide of the Glock 19, which resulted in numerous jams. So even the most reliable gear can be rendered unreliable by poor technique. Also it seems the main problem with the Sig Sauer is associated with using the 115 grain cartridge. Throwing the actual gun at your target would be more lethal...
