formerfed
OFPP is standardizing training and educational requirements for civilian and DoD. The new standard is termed FAC-C (Professional) Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting (FAC-C) Modernization
Constricting Officer
I like the idea of passing an exam very much: "Passing the contracting professional certification exam is required to obtain the FAC-C (Professional). An optional exam prep class is available to assist in preparation for the exam. More information on the certification exam is available at CON 3990V – Contract Certification Exam – Defense Acquisition University (dau.edu)." Never have liked being around for a year and not getting fired making someone eligible for any certification.
Vern Edwards
The OFPP FAC-C is nothing but an admission that the government has to lower its standards because it never met its old ones, which weren't very demanding.
formerfed
“Professional Examination. Contracting professionals must pass the contracting professional certification exam to obtain the FAC-C (Professional). The exam assesses the contracting common competencies to determine initial readiness of the candidate. An optional exam prep class will be available to assist in preparation for the exam.” Whenever I read something like this, I get skeptical. It reminds me of the old college football player jokes. No one fails
Vern Edwards
They can't fail very many. What would that say about management? Are they using the NCMA CPCM exam?
