Vern Edwards teaches and writes about government contracting. He is the founder of The FAR Bootcamp. He entered the contracting field after military service and college, hired as a "Copper Cap" contracting trainee by the U.S. Air Force Space and Missile Systems Organization (SAMSO), Air Force Systems Command, in El Segundo, California. He later worked in contracting for the U.S. Small Business Administration and the U.S. Department of Energy. After government service he taught for The George Washington University/Educational Services Institute contracting programs in the School of Business and Public Management and the Law School. He has written several books and many articles about government contracting. He now writes on a monthly basis for The Nash & Cibinic Report, which is published by Thomson Reuters. He served in the United States Army from 1964 to 1967.
